Mill Village Farms says, "The worst garden is one you don't plant."

Let that be your inspiration from the nonprofit Greenville urban farm and produce distributor to carve out a little spot in the sun and grow some fresh vegetables and fruit.

They're giving you a good start with their "Summer Plant Sale" going on now, both online and by phone.

To order just click this site or call 888-FOOD-GVL.

For $20 you will get a flat of 16 vegetable plants ready to be planted in your garden, with a little bag of fertilizer to help them grow — if you are on SNAP or EBT, the flat costs just $5.

Order online or by phone by Friday, June 16, and pick up your plants on Saturday, June 17, or Saturday, June 28, at the FoodShare drive-thru.

Frances Schueren is the garden and food education manager at Mill Village Farms. She said, "We are selling these plants at a discounted rate because we want gardening to be for everyone. Getting outside in the fresh air is a really wonderful way to improve all sorts of things about your health. You will also be growing your own produce in your backyard, which is another way to improve your health."

The sales will help support the summer student program, which begins next week when five rising ninth-grade students will enjoy their first work experience by working at the urban farm.
